As Artistic Director and Founder of Anima Theatre Company, Henry’s work has been focused on the faltering line between fact and fiction. Working in the realms of experimental theatre and new writing, the company came together through a mutual interest in inclusive theatre and giving voice to those who struggle to be heard.
Their most recent project, The Sleeper (Theatre 503, Edinburgh Festival 2017, The Rosemary Branch Theatre, The Space and Brighton Fringe 2018) is a minimal portrait of a woman struggling to find refuge, which questions what stories we tell each other and how we choose to tell them.
The new writing night Place to Be blends work with emerging artists and local communities. It is a direct response to the idea of “write what you know” and instead challenges artists to find out what they don’t know.
In each project they undertake, the aim is to promote cross-collaboration, conversation and connection while bringing new ideas and new audiences to theatre.
Anima is, and always will be, interested in staging the unstageable.
